Objectives and Methodology

Since 1994 the main goal of the Magister Lvcentinvs has been to promote and to accomplish excellence in research and specialized education through the design of a pioneering programme addressed to graduates and professionals, who wish to get an education in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law.

The classes at the Magister Lvcentinvs are focused to train professionals for a globalized world, offering a holistic approach to the Intellectual Property Rights, addressed not only to lawyers, also to economists, scientists, technicians, public officials and others professionals related to intangible assets.

In this endeavor, some of the most prestigious academic and professional institutions, as well as national and international organizations, collaborate with the University of Alicante throughout the academic year. Among them the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the Spanish Patent and Trademarks Office (SPTO). That collaboration makes possible that every academic year more than one hundred and fifty lecturers come through our classes, all of them renowned specialist in their respective fields, coming from academia, private legal practice, the judiciary, patent agencies, international and European organizations, and leader enterprises.

Highly orientated practical sessions delivered through practicums, seminars, workshops, mock and real trials, supervised by professionals and specialists in the field represent an essential part of the programme. In addition to this, through cooperation agreements with numerous prestigious institutions and intellectual property practices, the Magister Lvcentinvs offers its alumni the opportunity to take part in an internship programme whereby they are able to acquire a valuable experience to start their professional career.
